Content : A cruel and modern tale, fiercely feminist: the new novel for teenagers by Isabelle Pandazopoulos.
Ondine is a princess. But above all, she is a woman. And so, she was taught to keep silent. To bow her head. To obey. Yet nothing could ever extinguish her uncontrollable desire for freedom. The day her father imposes a husband on her, she runs away. Following the trail of her brothers, who are rumoured to have been transformed into birds, Ondine discovers that another life is possible — far from the destiny that has been laid out for her.
After her venture into general literature, we find again the captivating pen of Isabelle Pandazopoulos, a renowned author, now writing for a teenage audience.
With poetic flair, she delivers a feminist message set against a dark and enchanting fairy-tale backdrop. Ondine, the main character, undergoes a beautiful transformation throughout the novel: from the tyrant’s obedient and passive daughter to a young woman who breaks free from imposed rules and fights to carve her own path.
