Through this sensitive approach, he embraces the imperfections and surprises of the material — knots, burls, driftwood, and partially decomposed pieces — allowing the wood to express itself rather than forcing it. About the author-illustrator: Fabien Roma is a master woodturner who blends contemporary and traditional techniques to create unique pieces. Sensitive to the environment, he favours the use of local wood recovered from nature or recycled materials, including old furniture. His creations are crafted with meticulous attention to finishing and respect for biodiversity. Inspired by elements of aquatic environments — rivers, erosion, sedimentation, and vegetation — Fabien infuses his work with a poetic, organic dimension, firmly rooted in an eco-responsible and artistic approach. He shares his passion in his workshop in Penne d’Agenais, in the Lot-et-Garonne region.
