Content : Emotions can be difficult to understand, especially those of others. So how do we move forward together?
When Rosalie arrives at school, she is stunned to discover that the tree in the playground had been struck by lightning! Rosalie and her friends Theo and Felix were very attached to the tree, and loved playing under its branches and in its leaves. But the next day, the tree is cut down... The adults want to turn its stump into a picnic table. Faced with this news, Theo becomes almost mute, while Felix is already playing other games. As for Rosalie, she needs a little time to accept the change. Then a new idea germinates in her head: why not plant a new tree? It is an idea that will get everyone on board, and allow the students to move forward together. Even Theo and Felix join in by planting a small apple tree in the courtyard!
A short novel about how each of us deals with the changes that disrupt our daily lives, but also about empathy in the face of other people's feelings. It delicately shows that change can also bring positive ideas!
Through a multitude of details, the illustrations share the emotions of the characters, always with a great deal of poetry and humor. They also create a break in the reading.
