Content : 14 Dream Getaways!
An extraordinary guide to make children’s eyes sparkle, nurture their imagination, while keeping their feet on the ground.
This intergalactic journey takes young readers on a dreamlike adventure through space!
After a note clarifying that the scientific information is accurate, while the descriptions of travel and accommodations are imaginative, children can fully immerse themselves in the universe of space without confusing fiction with reality.
The book begins by introducing the preparations needed for a space adventure: health tips, essential equipment, and transport options. Next, it invites readers to explore the Moon and each planet of the Solar System through informative sheets that blend scientific facts with playful suggestions. Observe Olympus Mons on Mars, skate on one of Jupiter’s moons, or stay aboard an airship above Venus — space exploration becomes a game!
Finally, the journey continues to exoplanets within the Milky Way, while also highlighting the constraints of space travel, such as living in space habitats. The conclusion brings readers back to Earth, emphasising the importance of protecting and taking care of our planet.
The author: Louise Vercors was an editor for many years before becoming a French teacher for adult learners of French as a Foreign Language (FLE)… and eventually returning to her first passion, this time as an author. She began writing children’s non-fiction on her favourite topics: space, history, science, and dinosaurs. Over the years, she has expanded her repertoire to cover a wide range of subjects, including prehistory, the Olympic Games, encyclopedias of questions and answers, and numerous games and quizzes. This is her first title with Kilowatt.
The illustrator: Noelia Diaz Iglesias lives and works in Brussels. A graduate in illustration from ESA Saint-Luc, she broadened her horizons by completing a training course in bakery and pastry. She also trained in bookbinding at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Gilles and completed her studies with a Master’s degree in Comics. In 2021, she published her first book, a comic with CFC. Noelia is curious about everything and eager to try new things. She has also published Spotlights on Stranded Birds and Books with Kilowatt.
