Content : Before becoming the protégé of Louis XIV, Molière gambled his destiny on the open road.
From town to village, he travelled across France with his troupe, a company made up of strong and colourful personalities. Their daily life was turbulent, at the mercy of incidents that could sometimes turn threatening—and of tragic twists of fate. In those difficult times, the profession of actor was both admired and condemned.
Yet beyond the hardships, the players discovered the joy of creation, the fervour of their audiences, and the reward of laughter and moments of shared happiness. For Molière and his companions, laughter healed as surely as potions and ointments.
Through adventures, successes, setbacks and misfortunes, the troupe pressed on towards Paris, armed with everything they needed to conquer the capital.
