Content : The technique of Bayeux stitch is a combination of 3 simple stitches:
• «le point de tige» (contour),
• «le point lancé» (filling),
• «les barrettes et les picots» (fixing of the stitches).
It is this stitch that was used to embroider the famous tapestry of Bayeux in the 11th century.
The Art Nouveau style appeared in the last decades of the 19th century. It offers some fantasy, and original and innovative forms.
By associating his passion for Bayeux's embroidery and the Art Nouveau floral motifs the author offers to rediscover in an original way this traditional embroidery.
