Japanese macaques are monkeys with fascinating behaviors. Nicknamed snow monkeys, they are able to live in extreme conditions. The authors followed them all over Japan during three seasons (spring, autumn, winter) from the snowy plains of the Shimokita peninsula in the North to the UNESCO World Heritage forests of Yakushima Island in the South of the Japanese archipelago.
