Content : The war had eaten the world.
The night lasted a long time.
Daylight returned, however, and our island slowly awoke. It was so small!
Just a hill... Was there any other land left, somewhere out of the water?
The idea of building a boat floated in our dreams... One evening at the wake, someone asked the question:
‘How do you imagine our future ship?

After the chaos of war, the survivors of an island get together and dream of an ideal ship that would match everyoneʼs desires and hopes, a vessel that would be a messenger of peace and solidarity. The design is entrusted to the overflowing imagination of the youngest children.
The children quickly abandoned their notebooks to build a life-size vessel. Their white vessel takes the shape of the chapel at Ronchamp and the book is dressed in the colours of the stained glass windows.
The poetic text and superb illustrations are in perfect harmony. We follow the construction of the ship, literally letting ourselves be carried away by the gentle faces and magnificent colours of Anja Klauss.

Discovering Le Corbusier: the Notre-Dame-du-Haut chapel in Ronchamp.
