Content : Elodie-Aude Arnolin addresses the publishing industry: non-white people deserve to exist with dignity in literature.

Like many other non-white children, Elodie-Aude Arnolin could not find characters who looked like her in books. Where was she?

This question gave rise to this manifesto, marked by questions: what are the effects of this lack of representation? What are the solutions to this absence?

In this book, you will find the voice of a black woman who militates for her right to representation and inclusivity with power, accuracy and fervor.

A vibrant text of genuine necessity, addressed to our society and in particular to the children's publishing sector.

About the author: Elodie-Aude Arnolin is from Martinique and, above all, a BookAddict! Diversity and representation are of paramount importance to her. She created her blog “La Booktillaise” and is committed to highlighting diversity in books, as she has repeatedly observed this deficit within French publishing. The media and books she discovered did not reflect her own reality, which is why today she is actively involved in this cause. Her aim is for everyone to feel authentically represented and heard.

About the collection: The “I’d Like to See you Try” collection brings together a wide range of expertise on the issue of representations in children's literature: work by researchers, feedback on professional practices, tools and manifestos.
