On ne compte pas pour du beurre (We count for something) is an independant and committed publishing house created in 2020.
At the very beginning, it is the story of a family with two mums and one child, that wanted to see families that looked a little more like them in their books. But they could not find many... So they decided to publish stories with extraordinary heroes... in ordinary families. Little by little, their editorial line is opening to all sorts of differences, including handicaps.
The identification of oneself and of the other through books is necessary from an early age, the lack of representations maintains a form of ignorance which has the effect of preventing identity projections and fueling violence. Children need to know and recognize realities that are different from those represented in the vast majority of children's books. For the team, this inclusion is urgently needed.
