Content : Golden Cap is a curious young elf.
During a walk in the forest, he discovers a pretty little house.
Without stopping to wonder who might live there, he goes inside.

Golden Cap starts by nibbling from the big plate, then the medium one, and finally the small plate — and ends up settling into the little bed, where he falls asleep.

That’s when the ogre, the ogress, and the little ogre come home…

Golden Cap has just invited himself into the house of the three… ogres!

Several clues tell us who lives in this charming cottage: a ham, a sausage, and a roast on the plates, giant utensils in the kitchen…

Luckily, the elf hides several treasures in his cap, including magic seeds that will grow into an impenetrable forest, helping the elf outsmart the three ogres.

Éric Battut’s paper cut illustrations dress the story in the colors of fairy tales: red, green, and purple.
The pictures hold delightful surprises: a mushroom house for the elves, beds that frown in the ogres’ home.
The text sings along beautifully — perfect for reading aloud.
