The Mother’s Arch

Yhué, suffering from an incurable degenerative disease, encourages her lover, Sohann, to join the army to defend humanity against an unknown species, the Nostrems. They have already exterminated billions of humans on several planets that have been colonised for centuries.

During an attack, Sohann is killed, and Yhué is taken aboard the Ark, a gigantic spaceship run by Mother, a mysterious, authoritarian young woman revered as a guru.

What is Mother’s plan? Who are these Nostrems who arewreaking havoc? Are humans paying for their violent and conquering past? What are we to make of the terrible warning from the Caudales, natives of the planet Selgat: ‘The coming species will be merciless...?


About the author:
Pierre Bordage was born on January 1955 in Vendée. He is a French science fiction writer. His success started with his trilogy “Les Guerriers du silence”, published by l’Atalante and sold at more than 50,000 copies. This space opera and the “Wang” cycle were hailed by literary critics as major works in the French science fiction revival of the 1990s, a genre then dominated by English-language authors.
