Content : It is because Mary Read has lost everything that one day she boards this boat on the coast of England. She no longer knows who she is or where she is going. But she acquires a new sense of freedom, as she hears the stories of a plunderer of the seas, an heartbreaker... A certain Ann Bonny.
Suddenly trapped aboard the Revenge, a wider world opens up to her.

Did you know that pirate laws punished rape, allowed same-sex marriages and accepted women into professions that were forbidden at the time? In this more inclusive and less bloodthirsty version of piracy, Lou Dvina draws on a true facet of history, which she associates with her ‘pirate dream’. Mary Read and Ann Bonny become the heroines of an original story.
