Japanese folklore is overflowing with tales and fables featuring samurai, animals, spirits, monsters and witches. The collection “Mukashi Mukashi” (Once upon a time, in Japanese) invites you to discover these stories, which are very popular in Japan, but often unknown outside the archipelago.

Urashima Tarô: After saving a turtle, a young fisherman is invited to the kingdom of the deep sea to be rewarded.
The kingdom of mice : An old man discovers— at the bottom of a cave—the kingdom of mice.
The invisible tengu : A child will try to steal an invisibility cloak from a demon to make mischief.
About the author-illustrator:
Delphine Vaufrey has been illustrating for 17 years, working for children's publishers such as Nathan, Larousse, Milan, Hachette and Bayard.
She lived in Japan from 2010 to 2012. During these two years, she travelled the country to perfect her knowledge of Japanese culture.
