In this collection, Anne-Fleur Multon revisits three classic tales. She offers an unexpected reading with amused feminist twists. So many winks from our contemporary world to the attention of older times…

Cinderella: The story begins with the birth of Sandre, whose birth we celebrate with the blessing of a fairy. But her father - a miser - tries to trick the fairy. Furious, she curses him: “he will never be able to meet his daughter”. But which daughter? The father sees only a son. The day Sandre dreams of going to the ball, her father locks him up in the attic. Her two sisters then decide to come to her rescue and finally free Sandre by calling on the fairy… The rest, we know it! Except that it will be less a question of marriage than a revenge and freedom.

Beauty and the Beast: The young Belle is now of marriageable age and she cannot escape this obligation… Until the king promises whoever slays the Beast will become a general. Belle seizes this opportunity and tries her luck. What she discovers inside this impregnable castle – where she entered by knocking on the door - is far from what the horrible rumors say. Behind the door is a place where every woman can live and become they desire, freely. Belle also falls under the spell of the Beast whom she discovers the real face: a tall lady a little disheveled.

The Nutcracker: Born of a servant, a young boy benefits from the gifts of a sensitive fairy, who knows that he will soon be abandoned. He is taken in by a nice family of pastry chefs, happy to finally have a child. They discover that Miran is blind and do not care at all. The fairy does not forget: every Christmas, she leaves a gift on their doorstep. That year, the child receives a rather special nutcracker... A new world opens up to him.
