Content : 1930, Gandhi's Salt March.
Aslam is overwhelmed by doubts when his father is arrested by British policemen after harvesting
salt, too heavily taxed. Why did his father break the law? But when Aslam learns that the famous
Gandhi is on his way to his village, Jalalpur, he hopes to find help. With his cousin Kamal, he is now waiting impatiently from dawn to dusk for the arrival of their hero, the only one who may be able to stand against the colonial authorities and free Aslam’s father from jail.
A book about the courage for a father to break the law, and for a son to ask for help. A book to
remind one of Gandhi’s main non-violent actions to protest against the colonial rule in 1930.
