Content : On Dream Island, the dreams of the inhabitants were exceptional and they all lived in harmony. On the Bicker Islands, people argued about everything. And with too much quarrelling, the inhabitants lost sleep. So, they decided to steal their peaceful neighbours' sleep and built a terrible hot-air balloon.
Fortunately, Cheng and Mei, two children from Dream Island, thwarted their plan. They woke everyone up and made monstrous kites to scare off the attackers.
Since then, in remembrance, a kite festival brings together people from all over the world to share their most beautiful creations.

A poetic tale with an Asian flavour, combining dreams, nightmares and fabulous kites.

About the author:
Writer and director Bernard Villiot has been flirting with the world of children's literature for several years. Twice awarded a prize for a certain ‘Madame Edouard’, he is now pursuing the adventure with real enthusiasm. In his view, this major form of literature is a real revelation in his work as an author.

About the illustrator:
QU Lan is at home in the wide-open spaces of graphic design: she can illustrate superb children's books in France with Flammarion, parenting books with Hatier, as well as web press articles in the United States (Good Morning America), or create motifs for textile printing as well as Spanish and Chilean wine labels. In short, she is an artist without borders!
