Content : A beautiful picture book about transmission of techniques, from a grand-mother, to a grand-daughter, to a father…

Ami sees her daily life turned upside down by her parents’ divorce. To help her get through this delicate stage of her life, her grandmother will teach her, with the help of knitting and crochet, that undoing does not mean stopping everything.
Little by little, Ami and her father pick up the thread of their life again.

This book is a metaphor of repair and intergenerational transmission. Ami and her family tend to their doubts and their worries by giving the wool the shape they want. But above all, they learn that sometimes you have to know how to undo something when it does not work. Even when you are attached to it.

This whimsical, technical, honest and sweet book manages to combine the arts of knitting/crocheting to a true philosophy of repair, for all ages.

Saëko Matsushita exhibited her illustrations around the world and worked a lot in the recent years to develop toys and designs for the toy market, in particular by designing "the bunny angel" who had a lot of success. She is Japanese and lives in the suburbs of Paris.
